Some stories stay with us forever. This is one of them. Years after receiving wishes, a former Little Wishes patient reached out with a message that reminds us why this work matters and how far the ripple of a “little” wish can travel.

“Hi Little Wishes Team (and Nurse Laura!),
I just wanted to reach out and thank you for all the work you do. I was a long-term patient at CPMC in San Francisco in 2015, and Little Wishes was one of the things that kept me going during that difficult time. I still remember Nurse Laura’s kindness and care. I don’t know where I would be without it.
Since getting better, life has been good to me. I graduated from Rice University last year and started working full-time. I donated my first paycheck to Little Wishes as a small thank you for all you did for me and to hopefully pass along some strength and joy to kids in the same place I was not too long ago. It really does get better.
Nurse Laura, if you’re reading this, I’m sure you don’t remember me, but I certainly remember you, and I will always be grateful that you and Little Wishes were there for me at my worst. You are doing God’s work, and I have no doubt that there are many more former patients like me out there who, even as adults, will always be grateful that you were there when they needed it most.
Wishing the team all the best. Thank you so much for what you do.
Sincerely,
Vincent”
